It’s a beautiful weekend in Long Beach, and the sunny, warm-ish weather has brought out all the clammers, kite-fliers, and merry-makers.
That could be the best kite photo I’ve ever seen 🙂 It is a winner. Lovely composition, and very bold with the big, blue circle. Julie in Australia, eat your heart out!
😀 And thank-you, very much, for the compliment!
That’s a kite? What an incredibly beautiful shot! The colors knock you out and it’s sharp as a tack. Perhaps you’ll show us how this flies? I guess I’m remembering my youth when we’d take some old newspaper, a couple of sticks and some line and make out own little kites! 🙂
Thanks, Lowell! I know! Kites really have changed a lot over the decades. This one was flying all by itself, attached to the back of a parked truck. It wasn’t very high off the ground–maybe five feet. We get a lot of wind here, so this is a perfect place for flying kites. Long Beach is actually famous for its kite festival: http://kitefestival.com/ I’m really looking forward to taking my camera to this year’s festival.
Love how you shot this.
