California Condor

California Condor

This is another sculpture honoring the journey of Lewis and Clark. Both Lewis and Clark mentioned encounters with condors in their journals. You can read about their experiences with the birds here. Created by Bart Kenworthy, this condor watches over the Ilwaco Harbor. For a more complete view, please click on the condor. Fun detail: the bird is perched on whale bones.

Once again you’ve shown your superior compositional skills. This is superb! And scary. Love it!

The face is nice, but the “click” version is fantastic. I love the whale carcass dinner and the way you’ve positioned the sculpture in front of the boats. The harbor becomes a condor’s refuse heap.
