Different Day, Different Light

Different Day, Different Light

I took a photo of this spot last month from almost the same angle, but with new light, it’s almost a different place. Trying to capture light is one of my favorite things about photography, particularly because it can be so elusive. Wait a moment, and you might miss it. Magical and ever-changing, light never seems to repeat itself.

You are absolutely right about light and have proven it here. Light is what photography is all about. One of the cool things about digital photography has to do with the wonderful colors it can provide – especially at night. And just by changing the white balance, you can get all kinds of variations – even in daylight.

    Beautiful photo, Amy!

Glad Ken could help you out. I’ve been a fan of his for years. He also provides his own “manuals” for certain cameras. I’ve got one for my Nikon D300. Although he doesn’t charge for manuals, I always send him some money for he’s been such a great photographic guide.

WOW! I am stunned! Did you use any kind of effect on this shot? It’s spectacular. I love the pink and purple light.

    Absolutely fantastic!

  4. As always, thank-you, all! Since this entry is about light, I should probably add that the colors levels were adjusted to bring out hidden shades in both photos of this place, but the quality of light, the clouds, and even the water surface all had different personalities on each occasion.
